Looking for good contraception that suits you

We make a plan together after the consultation. You think about it some more, or you already know and we make a prescription for you, or schedule an appointment for the placement or removal of your IUD or implanon. We also often use ultrasound in our care, as this can sometimes give more information. We have many different types of contraception in the Netherlands. From the (shot) pill and the IUD to the contraceptive rod in your arm and contraceptive ring. With or without hormones. A form of contraception you have to think about daily or just once every few years. Which contraceptive method suits you depends on what your needs are and what your situation is.

Custom

We always offer customization. We understand that every woman is different. We also understand that medical examinations and procedures are not easy for every woman. Therefore, we can always schedule extra time if you find it very exciting or scary. It is also possible that a previous IUD placement elsewhere did not go well. Let us know and together we will see how we can help you. We have a lot of experience with this, so feel free to call.

Preventing unintended pregnancy

040anticonception (part of 040verloskunde) works very closely with several partners in Eindhoven to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies. We see many unplanned pregnancies in the practice and would like to help every woman who wants to decide for herself when she wants to get pregnant. She can then decide for herself if this is the time to stop contraception and prior to the pregnancy organize her life in a healthy way so that she will have the healthiest pregnancy possible. We therefore have contraceptive consultations, childbirth consultations and also work a lot together with Kansrijke Start project NuNietZwanger.

Frequently asked questions about starting birth control

(Any) reimbursement for your contraceptive coverage depends on your age:

  • Up to age 18: Contraception is covered by basic insurance. You pay no deductible, but sometimes a co-payment.
  • 18 to 21 years: Contraception is covered by the basic health insurance. You do pay a deductible in this case. Do you have to pay a co-payment for your pill? Then you can take out additional insurance.
  • 21 years or older: Contraception is not covered by basic insurance.

Tip: Calculate whether it is wise to insure yourself for contraception. Exactly how high these amounts are for you and what reimbursement you get depends on your health insurance policy. Are you curious about how exactly you are insured and what your health insurance company reimburses? Then contact your own insurer.
