5-6 weeks: Welcome to 040verloskunde!

7-8 weeks: first ultrasound

Together we’ll see if the heart is beating and how far along you are in your pregnancy.

  • Have you arranged for maternity care?
  • Thinking about NIPT and the 13- and 20-week ultrasound

10-12 weeks: Terminal ultrasound

We now finalize your due date.

  • Discuss choice of prenatal screening/NIPT
  • Would you like a sex determination from 14 wk or an additional 2D/3D/4D ultrasound?

To do:

  • Scheduling appointments through DVU: 0882141149
  • Blood sampling and NIPT, 13 and 20-week ultrasound (if desired)
  • Remember your bar code in your email + NIPT form for DvU to draw blood
  • Arranging recognition

13 weeks: 13-week ultrasound

This screening ultrasound will look at your child’s organs and growth. This ultrasound is performed by Diagnostics for You specialized ultrasound technicians at our own locations.

  • Schedule it between 12+3 weeks-14+3 weeks

To do:

  • Remember your barcode in your email for DvU.

16 weeks: Regular check-up

  • Heart listening (no ultrasound) and blood pressure check.
  • How are you doing?
  • Discuss blood results and measure growth uterus.
  • Today in your Pregnancy Portal you get information about pregnancy, vaccinations and courses.

To do:

19-20 weeks: Growth ultrasound

This screening ultrasound will look at your child’s organs and growth. This ultrasound is performed by Diagnostics for You specialized ultrasound technicians at our own locations.

To do:

  • Remember your barcode in your email for DvU.

22-23 weeks: Regular checkup

  • Heart listening (no ultrasound) and blood pressure check.
  • How are you doing?
  • Discuss ultrasound results.
  • Measuring uterine growth.
  • Bring blood draw form.
  • Today in your Pregnancy Portal you get information about pregnancy and childbirth.

To do:

  • Appointment (breast) feeding consultation?
  • Preparing for childbirth reading and thinking about wishes and questions to the midwife.
  • Blood sampling plans DVU around 27 weeks.

26-27 weeks: Childbirth

Childbirth is getting closer. We talk about your wishes and expectations or are there things you find exciting? Today we reflect on this together.

Regular audit:

  • Heart listening and blood pressure check.
  • Measuring uterine growth.
  • If you have a medical indication, you may need a growth ultrasound during this checkup.
  • Would you like to have an additional ultrasound? You can! You can schedule a pretecho in 2D or 3D/4D ultrasound with the assistant.

To do:

  • Blood sampling around 27 wk.
  • From now on, come to your checkup with an empty bladder.
  • Thinking about birth wishes and expectations of childbirth.

30 weeks: Regular checkup

  • Measuring uterine growth.
  • If you have a medical indication, you may need a growth ultrasound during this checkup.

32-33 weeks: Regular checkup

  • Heart listening and blood pressure check.

  • If you have a medical indication, you may need a growth ultrasound during this checkup.
  • Today in your Pregnancy Portal you will get information about labor and when you may call us when labor begins.

35-36 weeks: Lying ultrasound

At the positioning ultrasound, we check the baby’s position and the amount of amniotic fluid. If you have a medical indication, it may be necessary to have a growth ultrasound during this check-up. We talk again about the delivery; has everything been discussed? Do you have any questions or ideas? It is explained when you can call us when labor starts.

37-38 weeks: Regular checkup

  • How are you doing?
  • Heart listening (no ultrasound) and blood pressure check.
  • Measuring uterine growth.

39-40 weeks: the due date in sight

During this regular check-up, it is discussed that it is quite normal to reach 40 weeks or go a little over it. Only 4% of babies are born on the counted out date, often they like to stay in your belly a little longer. We explain what happens if labor doesn’t start after 40 weeks. Today in your Pregnancy Portal you get information about the time after the due date.

To do:

  • Explaining the time after the due date.
  • Before the next appointment, prepare for a possible internal examination (vaginal touching).

40-41 weeks: Not in labor yet?

A final pregnancy checkup with us! Your baby could be born at any moment! A vaginal exam during your consultation appointment can determine if your cervix is favorable to attempt “stripping” (if desired).

To do:

  • Possibly extra check in hospital around 41 weeks (serotinity check). Choice of hospital (Catharinaziekenhuis Eindhoven, Maxima Medisch Centrum Veldhoven or Annaziekenhuis Geldrop).

1st week after delivery: maternity care

Visits to your home in the puerperium by the midwife.

6 weeks after delivery: follow-up checkup

Last checkup at the practice, 6 weeks after delivery.

  • Do you want contraception?

10 weeks postpartum: Contraception

Do you want the pill or IUD? An IUD can be placed from 10 weeks after delivery. You can simply make an appointment with us for this.
