Travel during pregnancy

Do you want to take a nice trip and are you planning to get pregnant or are you pregnant? Then it is important to read up on this and prepare yourself well. Especially if you want to travel to countries with malaria or yellow fever. Consider whether this trip is necessary at this time or whether it would be better to postpone or change it.

Traveling during pregnancy need not be a problem

Because your resistance decreases during pregnancy, you have a higher risk of infections. This makes it more likely that you will need medical attention. The safest travel period is the second trimester of pregnancy: the fourth to sixth month. This is when most women feel fittest and the chance of problems is lowest.

Be well informed

Get proper information from an agency that specializes in traveler’s vaccinations and clearly report that you want to get pregnant or are pregnant. If you have other questions or doubts, discuss them with your midwife.
