Why a hearing test?
Good hearing is important. If a child does not hear well, he or she will not learn to talk properly, for example. The earlier it is discovered that your baby is not hearing well, the sooner treatment can begin. That’s why hearing is tested soon after birth. In about 95 out of 100 children, the result of the hearing test is “adequate. The hearing test is done during the same visit as for the heel prick. The test takes a few minutes and does not hurt. An employee of the GGD Brabant Zuidoost screening team comes to your home for this.
