Contraception

We have a lot of experience because the team of specialized midwives has been intensively placing IUDs and hormone rods for women from all over Eindhoven and the region for years. General practitioners refer to us and we are a strong partner of the municipality of Eindhoven in the NuNietZwanger project. We also work closely with surrounding hospitals when necessary. We offer our contraception consultations at all our locations in Eindhoven North, Central and South. A contraceptive consultation is a diverse consultation in which there is room for placing IUDs or a hormone rod, the implanon. We also have conversations with women (and their partners) about which form of contraception best suits you or your situation, make check-up ultrasounds or remove your contraceptive device during this consultation hour.

We help you get started right away with customized services and really take the time for you! Moreover, it is nice that you no longer have to go to your doctor or a gynecologist, but can also come to us! You are always helped by a female, specialized midwife with a lot of experience and knowledge about all forms of contraception. A lot of women in Eindhoven and surroundings use our contraception consultations, so we offer contraception consultations at 2 locations!

What can you contact us for in terms of contraception?

• Personal consultation
• Female specialized midwives
• We write prescriptions for: the pill, contraceptive ring, implanon, copper and hormone IUDs
• ‘Placement and removal of implanon in upper arm (hormone rod)’
• We place IUDs with ultrasound monitoring
• Replacing your IUD due to expiration of the maximum reliability period (5, 8 or 10 years)
• Removing the IUD in case of symptoms or a desire to have children
• We place emergency contraception (copper IUD after unsafe sex)
• Making control ultrasounds in case of complaints and after placement

Echo and contraception

It can be very helpful to have an ultrasound check if you have symptoms. It is also very nice to know immediately after an IUD placement if the IUD is sitting properly. The midwives who specialize in contraception are also ultrasound checkers. They will therefore use ultrasound during our consultations to provide even better care. Before and after an IUD placement, we will check with ultrasound to detect any conspicuousness or to see if your IUD is in the right location. You may also be referred for a check-up ultrasound of your IUD, or you may want to know for yourself if your IUD is still in place. We can also perform this ultrasound for you. You can always come to us quickly. If you want to make an appointment for a check-up ultrasound, please contact the assistants and you will be helped quickly. Not all ultrasounds are covered by your insurance.
