More about the 13-week ultrasound
The 13-week ultrasound is very similar to the 20-week ultrasound. Both screening examinations take place within our center by specialized ultrasound technicians and with high-end ultrasound equipment. In both examinations, an ultrasound technician from Diagnostics for You uses an ultrasound to see if your child has any indications of physical abnormalities. At the 13-week ultrasound, the ultrasound technician cannot and should not say whether your child is a boy or a girl. The ultrasound does not hurt and is not dangerous. Your child will not feel anything. The ultrasound takes about 30 minutes. Bringing other children to this ultrasound is not allowed. You can find more information about the 13-week ultrasound or first term screening ultrasound on the RIVM website.
