3D and 4D ultrasounds in Eindhoven

With a 3D ultrasound, using the latest technology, several 2D images are taken at the same time and turned into 1 image by software in the ultrasound machine, giving your baby a beautiful image. With 3D, it is somewhat more common that the baby's position and movements prevent you from getting an optimal image of your baby.

A 3D ultrasound can be done throughout the pregnancy. It is important to know that between 15 and 24 weeks your baby is still thin, which is also visible on the ultrasound. The best time to have a 3D ultrasound done is between 25 and 32 weeks. Your baby will have a fuller face by then, so you can sometimes already see who the baby resembles. You decide at which term you would like to admire your baby, sometimes even at 39 weeks we still have beautiful images.

In a 4D ultrasound, 3D recordings are played back in sequence to create a moving image. A video image in which you can see your baby in motion. You can clearly see when your baby is yawning or sucking his/her hand.

You can have a pretecho throughout your pregnancy. Each term has special things to admire.

• Early in pregnancy until 20 weeks or so, you see your baby in its entirety.
• Later in pregnancy, you can take beautiful profile and portrait photos of the little face.
• The best time for a 3D ultrasound is between 24 and 34 weeks of pregnancy or an early 3D ultrasound between 16 and 24 weeks.
• A sex determination can be reliable in most cases from 14 weeks of pregnancy.
